P’tit Belliveau is the full-time project of Acadian pop experimentalist and prime alien Jonah Guimond, the man behind generational anthems like “Income Tax” and “J’aimerais d’avoir un John Deere.” Originally from Baie-Sainte-Marie, Nova Scotia, he lives his life as a series of adventures that he translates into songs for the greater good—a humble prophet of the goblin world who simply seeks to feel good and feel great by creating for others: so that the world might have a tiny bit more love. After his first three EPs in 2017-2018, we found him quite appealing. With the release of his Greatest Hits Vol. 1 album in 2020, his potential was evident (winning Revelation of the Year at the GAMIQ Awards and the Félix Award for Album Production of the Year at the ADISQ Gala). His second album, Un homme et son piano, in 2022, revealed the magnitude of his success (four sold-out shows at Club Soda). With P’tit Belliveau, his third album due out in 2024, he’s on track for a sold-out show at the Bell Centre.
P’tit Belliveau is the full-time project of experimental pop artist and Acadian outsider Jonah Guimond, who already has two acclaimed albums to his name, featuring generational anthems like “Income Tax” and “J’aimerais d’avoir un John Deere.” With four (4) sold-out shows at Club Soda, he fully intends to reach the “[…] big poster [of the] sold-out Bell Centre […]” with P’tit Belliveau, his 3rd album, due out April 27, 2024. A one-man band on record but always accompanied by his band in concert, he sticks to the simple yet essential credo of fun and “bigger, better, stronger,” offering more rock and energetic versions of his most party-ready songs, so that “people dance, they move, they drink beer” with “more boom, more pow,” sprinkling in a few well-known covers: “It’s not about being subtle – it has to be big, and if it involves skulls and motorbikes, so be it.” Come see for yourselves; there’s little chance you’ll leave without joining the P’tit Bellivers horde.
