The Cape Forchu Lighthouse is offering SNAP holders 50% off a “Quick Climb” Tour. Subject to availability. Liability waiver required.
Experience one of Nova Scotia’s most iconic coastal landmarks at Cape Forchu Lighthouse with our Quick Climb Tour.
Join a guided experience as you ascend the lighthouse’s 77 spiral steps to the top of the tower, where you’ll enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the Atlantic coast and surrounding shoreline. The climb takes approximately 15 minutes and offers excellent photo opportunities from the lantern level. Please note that a liability waiver is required, safety rules must be reviewed before climbing, and participants must be at least 48 inches tall and wear closed, back-supporting footwear. Tour climbers register onsite at the Keeper’s Residence. Tickets are $15 per person or $7.50 for children under 12.
After your climb, explore the historic 1912 Keeper’s Residence, where the upper level has been transformed into a small but informative museum showcasing the history of the lighthouse, local maritime heritage, and life of the lightkeepers.
The site also features the scenic Leif Erikson walking trail and park, offering coastal paths, picnic areas, and benches at the southern tip of the property. Surrounded by water on multiple sides, it provides exceptional views, especially at sunset.
Operated and maintained by the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth, the lighthouse grounds span over 19 acres of well-groomed coastal landscape, making it one of the most picturesque viewpoints in the region.
